Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
The OSSD, or Ontario Secondary School Diploma, is highly esteemed globally, with recognition from over 500 universities worldwide. It’s equivalent to the Sri Lankan General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level (A/L) approved by the Department of Examinations. Also it is equivalent qualification to London Cambridge and Edexcel A/L.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) is designed for students who have completed their O-Levels or A-Levels, serving as a preparatory phase before university studies. The number of modules required is tailored to the student’s previous educational qualifications.
To qualify, the student must complete 7 modules, including 4 compulsory and 3 recommended. This may vary based on university selection and previously completed subjects.
Each subject follows a modular approach, wherein assessment is divided into 70% coursework and 30% final exams. This structure emphasizes continuous engagement with homework, assignments, and projects throughout the academic year.
